In the January issue of LimestoNEWS, Indiana Limestone Company featured Rock Solid Dimensional Stone in the Fabricator’s Spotlight.

Five years ago, we at Rock Solid Dimensional Stone, Inc. decided to select Indiana Limestone Company’s “Silver Buff” as our standard for slab inventory. We consider it to be a best buy for the quality of the stone when it comes to its tight grain, color and machineability. We can rely on availability in all size slabs for those difficult jobs as well as the not so difficult projects. Our customers have been very pleased with the results. It was very ful filling when the doctor we fabricated an interior fireplace surround for called on the day it was installed just to say “Wow”.

Rock Solid Dimensional Stone is proud to be a member of Preservation North Carolina’s Professional Associates Network, and recently helped sponsor A Taste of Mount Airy. The event highlighted local historic properties as well as the Yadkin Valley region’s wine industry. Money raised from the event will support preservation projects across the state.

Rock Solid is committed to historical accuracy in replicating stonework for renovation or expansion of older buildings. Rock Solid has recently supplied custom cut stone for work on Saint Phillips Moravian Church in Historic Old Salem, Salem College Campus and the Winston-Salem Courthouse.

Rock Solid Dimensional Stone recently teamed up with Simple Living’s Wanda Urbanska on a green remodel project here in Mount Airy, North Carolina.

The “Simple Living Sunflower” demonstration house is an American mid-century ranch style home that was transformed using green products, including natural stone.

Recently, Rock Solid was profiled in Park Industries’ Industry Insight newsletter. Park Industries is the manufacturer of the high tech stone fabrication machinery used here in Rock Solid’s facility, including the INFINITY, JAGUAR and DESTINY. In Using Technology to Produce High Quality Stone Work, Park tells a history of Rock Solid Dimensional Stone and details some of the equipment used.

In the article, Doug Porter, President of Rock Solid, describes his company’s niche as “using state-of-the-art equipment with the latest technologies to create high quality, not volume, cut stone work” and adds, “I love what I do. I love creating beautiful products for people and seeing the satisfaction they get from the product.”
